I was watching a local home decoration show in the boob tube last night. And the house they featured was the house of an architect who beautifully designed the structure of his house using contemporary architecture. And of course to fit the structural beauty of his home, he carefully chooses the right furniture to fit in every room. It is really nice how he decorated his house with retro modern furniture. Most of his modern furniture is custom made, ordered locally and abroad through internet. He has fabulous custom made sofas which are convertible into different arrangements. Plus he also tried to infuse retro feel in his home buy mixing both modern and old furniture. Some of his old ones are from their old houses, that is why they are really certified antiques while some came from local stores he visited.
The room of his children are modernly designed where in every furniture are maximized to be used as storage devices. Like the cabinets and side tables which have built in storage spaces. They create modern look while at the same time eliminating the disordered usual looks of rooms of children, while his home office room are decorated with modern office furniture .
The house of the architect only proves to me that combining modern and old is really nice. The furniture at home does not necessarily be horribly expensive. You can also buy custom made pieces on most furniture stores now. That way you can be sure of that they are going to be more that just mere decoration but most important to serve its purpose.
